The Challenge
Jimi Blake is a self-confessed ‘plantaholic’, international lecturer, columnist, author of ‘A Beautiful Obsession’, and co-host of Ireland’s Garden Heroes. Jimi is also the custodian and visionary creator of Hunting Brook Gardens in Co. Wicklow where he grows the largest and most exciting private plant collection in Ireland. As a frequent visitor of Hunting Brook, I was delighted when Jimi invited us to work with him on his branding and marketing.
The Response
We started out with a discovery session to understand Jimi’s ethos and unique approach to his work. The focus was on creating a personal brand for Jimi that would reflect his personality and style – fun, passionate, creative, and unconventional.
Hunting Brook Gardens is Jimi’s living canvas where he experiments and innovates – playing with colour, shapes, forms, and texture to create a thoroughly immersive experience. A rich vibrant colour palette, illustration, photography, and personality infused content are all used to tell Jimi’s story and bring you on a magical journey of discovery.
Application included website – content, design and development, digital assets, signage, merchandise, promotion, and advertising. Content and design of a monthly newsletter helps Jimi engage with his growing fanbase driving traffic to his website and online shop. We also worked with Jimi to expand his product and service offerings to include his series of online and in-person courses, membership programme, and gifting. Jimi and Hunting Brook Gardens are flourishing with lots more to come.
